When Major Media Outlets come to Baltimore, they focus on beehives and quirk; when they go to Frederick, they marvel at how such an โ€œunsophisticated working-class townโ€ can nonetheless have fancy restaurants.

But all snark aside, the new foodie scene in Frederick is an exciting development, and the Times offers a helpful rundown of the key players in town. Thereโ€™s plenty of talk about Top Chef alum Bryan Voltaggioโ€™s Volt, of course, but thereโ€™s also mention of a couple other restaurants, a local brewery, a chocolate shop, and that fancy olive oil/vinegar store with all the free samples.
