For years now, anyone wanting to enjoy the food of Bryan Voltaggio, Frederick’s celebrity chef/former Top Chef finalist, had to drive to either Frederick or DC to do so. But not for long.
Richard Gorelick reports that Voltaggio will open Aggio, an Italian fine-dining restaurant in Power Plant Live within a few months. Voltaggio, who clearly likes to name things after himself, opened the first iteration of Aggio in DC on Valentine’s Day. According to Urban Daddy, the DC Aggio has got the white tablecloths and Sinatra soundtrack you might expect, but also plenty of surprises: cocktails featuring a housemade anise-and-beet liqueur; sea urchin; a savory Parmesan funnel cake amuse bouche.
I thought I’d never feel the need to go to Power Plant Live again, but this just might motivate me…
