April Foolโ€™s jokes work when theyโ€™re plausible enough to fool you for a minute, or if they involve drones. Here are the mixed results of Wednesdayโ€™s pranks:

Larry Hogan Announces Run for President

Gov. Larry Hogan strutted into a meeting of this morningโ€™s Board of Public Works meeting with a special announcement.

Over the past few months, my administration has been applauded for its bipartisan approach to governance. It seems to me that approach is something that is desperately lacking in Washington, DC.

After much encouragement and reflection, I have decided to announce my candidacy for President of the United States.

Hogan for President? Sure, why not? A Republican announcing his candidacy for president at a meeting of bureaucrats? Doubtful.

Hereโ€™s the delivery so you can judge for yourself: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=947204225324343&set=vb.907931509251615&type=2&theaterTHBโ€™s Bagel Drone

Delivery, you say? Well, a morning Facebook post from Towson Hot Bagels indicated they were taking it to the next level. The much-loved Towson and Canton bagel franchise is in the same town as Amazonโ€™s massive, state-of-the-art warehouse, and already embraces delivery via OrderUp.

Well done on the flyer, THB. As one Facebook poster points out, the dead giveaway is the line that says, โ€œWe made a deal with Amazon.โ€ But itโ€™s pretty small. Plus, it plays into something we all want.
