WBAL radio chose to dump all its departure news in one day. 1090 AM will no longer be the spot on the dial for Orioles games next season, and news director Michelle Butt is leaving for North Carolina.

Orioles games will return to WJZ’s 105.7 The Fan in 2015, returning the baseball broadcasts to their station home from 2007-2010. Joe Angel and Fred Manfra will still have the call, as they have for the last 12 years.

Meanwhile, WBAL-TV and radio will lose its news director. Michelle Butt was hired as the General Manager of WXXI-TV, the NBC affiliate for the Winston-Salem, North Carolina, area. Butt previously served as news director at WXXI for three years, making the move something of a homecoming. However, her presence will likely be missed at WBAL-TV, where she has helmed the dual-medium newsroom since 2003. Butt’s successor has yet to be named.
