Former Ravens cheerleader Molly Shattuck was sentenced in connection with the child sex abuse case against her in Delaware last week. There’s a new signal this week that the case could continue in Baltimore County.
According to WBAL, Baltimore County State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger plans to “re-examine” the allegations in connection with Shattuck’s relationship with a 15-year-old boy. After beginning their relationship on Instagram, an initial affidavit in the Delaware case stated that the mother of three would pick up the boy, who was a classmate of her son’s at the McDonogh School, and the two would drive to various parking lots to “make out.”
This doesn’t mean Shattuck is facing new charges, but Shellenberger said he would reach out to the victim and his family.
The Delaware charges stemmed from an incident over Labor Day weekend 2014 at a rented beach house in Bethany Beach, where Shattuck performed oral sex on the boy. She agreed to plead guilty to a single count of fourth-degree rape, and was sentenced to 48 weekends in a Delaware jail. Other charges, including unlawful sexual contact and serving alcohol to minors, were dropped as a result of the agreement. Shattuck was technically sentenced to the maximum of 15 years, but the judge suspended that sentence resulting in the every-other-weekend in jail arrangement.
Shattuck apologized to the victim and family at Friday’s sentencing in Delaware. According to the Baltimore Sun, a prosecutor said Shattuck “groomed” the boy for three months leading up to the abuse.
