Save 25% for Shop Local Saturday at Baltimore Yoga Village

There have been a lot of changes in the yoga climate recently in Baltimore, which you will feel shortly if you have not been affected already. These shifts leave Baltimore Yoga Village as one of the only studios left locally owned and run. Small Business Saturday (a.k.a. Shop Local Saturday) gives us a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It encourages us to support the local, homegrown places that exist only from your local support.

Born and raised in Baltimore, community building has been my mission beneath the surface and straight from the heart since we opened in 2007 and chose the “Village” name. We have always been a bit like the tortoise and the hare as far as growth, and that is partially because I have been a fan of word of mouth marketing rather than large advertisement. My belief was that mostly word of mouth would build genuine community. In our rushed society where it is sometimes easier to go to the quickest location, the largest chains, and the online grab and go carts, we can lose connection with each other.

Practicing yoga, meditation, dance, chanting, etc. in a smaller space amongst people who know the value of what is occurring creates an authentic homelike experience that cannot be matched. At BYV, we have done the occasional groupon/ living social deal (which we will be doing again soon for the Hampden studio for new students), but in general, we have survived because of the strength of our teaching community and your loving support.
