For the second time in its history, the American Red Cross is declaring a national blood supply crisis.
According to the organization, some patients are having to wait for blood transfusions.
Scott Marder, the Regional Communications Manager for the American Red Cross in Baltimore, said they have less than one dayโs supply of O positive blood. Thatโs critical because O positive is the most common and is compatible with all positive blood types.
