With the explosion of the craft cocktail movement, many major cities have cocktail weeks – New York, Portland, New Orleans to name a few of the larger ones. These events are for industry professionals and cocktail enthusiasts alike. Some events are purely social and fun, but most are educational. Yes, tasting booze at 10:00 a.m. on a Tuesday is what the pros do.

This year for the very first time, Baltimore gets to play along with the big kids. Baltimore Cocktail Week, the first-ever celebration advocating and educating the Baltimore service industry, is March 22-29, 2015. Tickets are $15-35. More info is available at BaltimoreCocktailWeek.com.

Programs and classes include wellness and restoration, money management for cash-based incomes, master craft, trade-show style mini-tastings, and cocktail contests. There will also be a conversation on coffee and tea at Dooby’s Coffee and a happy hour and hospitality “exploration” hosted by one of Baltimore’s most talented baristas, Lindsay Difabbio of the Foreman Wolf Group.

Here is a run down of the week’s events so far – and more events are being added.
