A foundation focused on supporting neighborhood-level and public education investments in Baltimore reached its lofty fundraising goal.
In three years, the Baltimore Community Foundation completed its campaign with about $103 million. A total of 250 donors gave, with 28 giving more than $1 million. About 30 percent will go toward immediate needs, and 70 percent will go toward the foundation’s endowment.
“What we set out to do was to raise one hundred million dollars for Baltimore,” campaign co-chair Wes Moore said in a statement. “It really says something that Baltimore trusted BCF with that gift.”
The foundation is behind neighborhood resources known as Judy Centers, and also makes investments in improving public education.
