A new restaurant, The Boathouse Canton, will replace The Bay Cafe next spring once $1 million in renovations are completed, reports the Baltimore Business Journal. The new owners of the restaurant are changing the Boston Street eatery significantly. Plans include removing the palm trees and the sand in the outdoor bar area and replacing it with a tent on the water, and adding a raw bar to serve oysters and clams.
The Boathouse Canton’s new manager Tammy Reece said the new owners are putting more emphasis on the indoors so they do not have to rely on sunny weather for business. The new menu will focus on American grill food like burgers, sandwiches, crab cakes and more. She expects the restaurant to open in late March/early April.
