Retired Hopkins-trained neurosurgeon and former presidential candidate Ben Carson quit the presidential race earlier this week. This morning, he threw his support behind Donald Trump.
Carson’s endorsement of Trump begins by stating that “our country is at a crossroads and in the midst of a moral crisis,” and goes on to praise Trump’s business experience. “I know there will be some who want to underscore our differences and others will wish to return to statements he has made about me in the past, but that is politics,” Carson wrote. Perhaps Carson was referring to that time Trump called him “pathological,” compared him to a child molester, and made a not-very-veiled reference to how he should be castrated.
Trump said that Carson will play a “big, big part” in his campaign going forward.
