Saturday’s GOP debate was nuts all around. The moderators maintained very little control, as the candidates slung mud (and anything else handy) at each other in desperate plays to break away from the pack. But Hopkins’s own Dr, Ben Carson managed to distinguish himself by closing with a fake (and already Snopes’d) quote from Josef Stalin.
It’s possible Carson was referencing a popular conservative Facebook meme when he said, “Joseph Stalin said if you want to bring America down, you have to undermine three things: Our spiritual life, our patriotism, and our morality.”
But first of all, Stalin no doubt continued, you must fill social media sites with falsely attributed quotes of myself!
Oh well, at least he knows “Putin is a one-horse country.”
