The Charm City Circulator hasn’t been doing so well recently. There was a financial scandal, and then a possible plan to charge $1 for the free bus rides, and then the removal of the bus’ Banner Route, which ran through Locust Point and all the way to Ft. McHenry.

It was nine months ago that we learned the folks behind Salt of Butchers Hill had bought 1157 Haubert Street in Locust Point. (The address had previously hosted The House and Down the Hatch.) At the time, we were told the new eatery would be “some sort of bar that sells food.”

That certainly didn’t put too fine a point on it. So kudos to the City Paper for teasing out a little more information.

Salt chef/owner Jason Ambrose recently told CP that the Locust Point would boast a menu of mostly small plates. He also promised it would be cheaper than Salt and more bar than restaurant.
