Air bests sea once again. The Charmery’s creativity is always earning plaudits. But when it comes to using the bathroom, folks apparently liked an airport better.
In Cintas’ competition for America’s Best Restroom, the Hampden ice cream shop’s under-the-sea bathroom was nominated in the top 10. When the votes were tallied, however, it came up a little short of the top spot, but ended up in second. MSP received about 1,800 votes, while the Charmery got 775. The field was bested by the bathroom from the airport at the Minneapolis St. Paul airport, which beat out a Dr. Who themed bathroom and a urinal gaming system.
“Public restrooms don’t get a lot of positive praise, so we’re proud to recognize businesses like the MSP Airport that are committed to providing clean and memorable bathrooms,” said John Engel of Cintas.
But does it have an octopus?
CORRECTION: This article was corrected to indicate that The Charmery finished 2nd in the competition, not sixth. We regret the error.
