McHenry Row in Locust Point will be the site of Diamondback Brewing Company’s new 6,800 sq. ft. brewery and tap room.
According to SouthBMore.com, Diamondback has previously been contracting its brewing to a facility in Virginia, while storing and operating out of Curtis Bay.
In addition to the appeal of Locust Point in general, Diamondback co-owner Francis Smith is excited about a particular feature of the site. “The remnants of an old shot tower are embedded within our space,” Smith told SouthBMore.com, ‘which provides a one-of-a-kind and realistic manufacturing feel to the environment. It would have been nearly impossible to replicate this iconic design element.”
Look for the brewery to open in September. Then look for a lot more Diamondback beers around, because they plan on more than doubling production.
