February is upon us, which means it’s time for groundhogs, football parties and all things lovey-dovey. If you’re planning to dine out this Valentine’s Day, now’s the time to make your reservations. Baltimore’s restaurants are delivering in the romance department, with tons of special menus. This year, the holiday falls on a Sunday, which means that many local restaurants are hosting special events all weekend long. Baltimore will be a busy place this Valentine’s Day. Here’s a glimpse at what’s happening at restaurants in and around the city:
Aldo’s The classic Italian restaurant will offer its regular menu along with a few romantic flourishes, including lobster dish specials and featured champagne.
Alizee American Bistro: Alizee is getting in on the Valentine’s action early, with an Italian-inspired couples’ kitchen mixer this Saturday, February 6th at 7 p.m.; take the class (while enjoying a complimentary cocktail) and learn how to make a romantic meal for two
Artifact Coffee Artifact is busy this weekend with a Friday night pop-up dinner with food by and talented local chef Beej Flamholz and a Sunday evening candle making and wine event hosted by Knits, Soy & Metal and Strangers with Style, with specialty chocolates by Jinji Chocolates.
Azumi Chef Taka’s 4-course menu is available by the course and includes a mix of classic Azumi dishes and new favorites.
B&O American Brasserie Explore B&O’s creative cuisine with a 3-course prix fixe menu, with optional wine pairing; the Valentine’s day special includes dishes like oxtail agnolotti and lobster “ramen” with squid ink capellini and a soft quail egg.
Café Cito Café Cito calls their holiday menu the City’s Valentine’s Sexy Menu, and with 5 courses including ingredients like seared foie gras, kobe beef and Maine lobster tempura, they’re right
Café Troia In addition to the regular menu, Café Troia will offer romantic specials all weekend long.
Charleston On the 13th and 14th, Chef Wolf will serve two premium 4-course menu options (with wine pairings available) including dishes like rich lobster soup with curry and pan-roasted magret of duck
Chef’s Expressions at The Baltimore Station On Saturday the 13th, join The Baltimore Station and Chef’s Expressions for a Valentine’s day supper at Gramercy Mansion; the meal starts with passed hors d’oeuvres, followed by a 6-course seated dinner with wine pairings
Cinghiale On Saturday and Sunday, Chef Marucci will be preparing a special multi-course menu, with wine pairings available, featuring fabulous Italian dishes like squid ink pasta served with tomato braised octopus and beef carpaccio with arugula, lemon and parmigiano
Colette This brand new restaurant from the team behind Bottega opens on the 10th and will be ready for Valentine’s day with small plates and a full bar (the full menu will be available at the end of the month).
Cunningham’s Offering a 3-course menu on Valentine’s Day featuring multiple options, including cornmeal oysters and winter truffle risotto.
Fleet Street Kitchen The Harbor East spot’s 4-course Valentine’s day menu, with optional wine pairings, showcases creative takes on great ingredients, like a kabocha squash soup garnished with confit bacon, candied pumpkin seeds, poached golden raisins and uni
The Food Market Get the private chef experience with 5 courses, starting with mushroom broth and goat cheese ravioli and closing with lots of chocolate, all served in the restaurant’s downstairs private kitchen.
Fork & Wrench The Canton mainstay will offer its full menu this Valentine’s day along with several holiday specials – TBD.
The French Kitchen On February 12th, 13th and 14th, The French Kitchen at the Lord Baltimore Hotel will offer a special 3-course menu, with optional wine pairings, featuring classic (and luxe) choices like French onion soup and beouf Wellington; pair it with a stay at the hotel, taking advantage of their special romance package available throughout the weekend.
Gertrude’s The lovely restaurant in the BMA celebrates Valentine’s Day this weekend and next with sweet (and savory) afternoon teas on the 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th.
Hersh’s Pizza & Drinks Hersh’s talented bar staff has created special couples’ cocktails to pair with their special Valentine’s day menu (available in addition to the regular menu), which starts with fried oysters and closes with made to order heart-shaped chocolate doughnuts
Johnny’s Celebrate all weekend long with fun drink and food specials on both Saturday and Sunday night.
La Cuchara On Sunday the 14th La Cuchara will offer a prix fixe menu including special dishes like lamb loin pumpkin puree and manzanilla olives; wine pairings are also available
Le Garage On the 13th and 14th, wash down a 4-course prix fixe dinner (or one of the restaurant’s signature menu items, which will also be available) with an aphrodisiac-inspired cocktail, developed by the Le Garage bar just for the holiday.
The Milton Inn Take a romantic drive north into the County for The Milton Inn’s -4-course prix fixe menu on Saturday and Sunday.
Ouzo Bay Go Greek for Valentine’s day with a 3-course signature menu featuring several showstopping seafood items and a complimentary glass of sparkling wine
Parts & Labor Carry out a Valentine’s day tote packed with a “build your own romantic evening” stash,including cheese, salami and jam, maybe steaks and oysters and a crispy Woodberry Kitchen baguette; totes will be available for pickup on the 13th and 14th.
Pazo A multi-course Italian menu, with wine pairings available, will be served at Pazo on the 13th and 14th.
Petit Louis The Roland Park and Columbia bistros will offer a special multi-course Valentine’s day dinner on February 13th and 14th; there will also be a Valentine’s day brunch at the Columbia location.
Rusty Scupper To pair with its spectacular view, the Rusty Scupper will feature a special Valentine’s day menu featuring seafood classics, from oysters to lobster.
Wit & Wisdom It’s a full weekend with prix fixe dinner menu options Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Cellar Session wine event on Saturday and an extravagant Sunday brunch.
Woodberry Kitchen Surprise your dining companion with an extra little gift at dinner, like a glass of sparkling wine and a handwritten Valentine card, or a sweet box of candies (for a complete list of options, check in with Woodberry before the big day).
