36th Street will be getting even tastier soon: Dylanโ€™s Oyster Cellar, an oyster-and-cocktail joint, is scheduled to open in Hampden this fall.

You may have experienced a version of DOC last year, when owner/chef Dylan Salmon (what a name for a seafood guy!) opened a pop-up oyster bar in Mount Vernon. The Baltimore Sunโ€™s Wesley Case went to a Friday happy hour there and called it โ€œone of the most enjoyable bar experiences Iโ€™ve had this year.โ€ Salmonโ€™s permanent space will be located at 3601 Chestnut Street, or at the corner of 36th and Chestnut, right near The Creamery Charmery. Until the restaurant opens, you can catch up with Salmonโ€™s itinerant oyster shucking by following his Facebook page.

Salmon started out as an oyster shucker; now he seems to be building an oyster empire, and weโ€™re thrilled to be along for the ride.
