To celebrate the transition from winter to spring, downtown modern soul food spot Ida B’s Table is switching up the drinks and cuisine on its bar menu, and throwing a party tonight to kick it all off.
Without dropping any specifics, bar manager Joseph Weeks told Baltimore Fishbowl the new drinks will mirror the Ida B’s brand focus on “locality and sustainability,” and they’ll also have a “spring-like color,” according to the Facebook event page. Weeks said there will be new food items debuting at the happy hour, though the kitchen hadn’t released the menu as of around 4 p.m.
Even better, the restaurant will debut a new parlor bar dubbed Archive, for which the design is influenced by the speakeasy and pre-prohibition bars of New Orleans, Weeks said. Bartender Alex Dang will be pouring stirred, shaken and neat libations.
Happy hour (which will include some food) means $2 off house drinks and drafts, and wines for $6. Ida B’s is staying open until midnight for the party.
More food changes are in store for April, according to Weeks, so stay tuned.
