That little joy nuggets incident aside, Baltimore’s recent crop of small breweries remain worth mentioning among the best craft beers in the land. This week, Food Republic has a piece that measures up the state’s scene. They even have room for distilleries.
In the piece, titled Maryland is fast becoming a place to watch for beer and spirits,” writer and native Baltimorean Kathy Wielech Patterson focuses in on Heavy Seas, Union, Stillwater, Brewer’s Art and Flying Dog. She also notes Maryland’s history of producing rye whiskey, and points out Lyon Distilling and Blackwater Distilling as modern-day example.
If there’s two things to be known for, we’ll take beer and whiskey any day.
