Born in Lima, Peru, Mark Gheiler immigrated to Maryland as a middle schooler in 1986. His father, involved in residential construction, accepted a job here in Baltimore. Markโ€™s Latin American and Jewish culture intersect during the high holidays, where family is central to every gathering. Mark and his wife Eve celebrate with their three children and grandparents from both sides of the family.

You may recognize Mark from his community involvement across Jewish Baltimore or through his professional work at his full-service real estate title and escrow company, MiCasa Title, LLC. We sat down to get to know Mark a bit and hereโ€™s what we found out.

Answer the quintessential Baltimore question โ€“ where did you go to school?
I attended Beth Tfiloh for middle school, McDonogh for high school, travelled to New England to attend Brandeis University for undergrad and returned to Baltimore to attend UB School of Law. I currently live in Pikesville with and my wife Eve and three teenage children, Tali, Ilan and Itai.

Tell us about your day job and how you came to start MiCasa Title?
Immediately after college I worked at JenMar Homes, my familyโ€™s home building business. I had truly enjoyed studying Political Science at Brandeis, but it was not the most practical schooling to work in construction, so I decided to go to Law School. After my first year at UB I got an internship at a local title company and quickly knew what I was meant to do. I worked there and at a couple of other title companies until 2007 when I decided to open MiCasa Title.
