Toastique, a breakfast restaurant whose staple is – you guessed it – gourmet toast dishes, will open its first Baltimore City location in Fells Point. This will be the chain’s fifth location in Maryland.
The franchise’s “Coming Soon” signs appeared at 631 S. Broadway, which was a Starbucks from 2022 through 2025. The Starbucks closed last fall, however, and the building has been vacant since then. Standing at the corner of Broadway and Aliceanna Street, construction on the new café should begin this month.
Toastique is known for extremely photogenic toast and toppings combinations, like avocado, smoked salmon, peanut butter crunch, spicy crab, and tomato burrata. The all-day café serves more than fancy toast, though. The menu offers smoothie bowls with superfoods like acai, strawberries, and dragonberries with granola, matcha, and more.
Oats and soups are available, as are “wellness” shots, cold-pressed juices, and iced collagen lattes. The seasonal menu includes items like pumpkin cheesecake waffles and smoky chipotle turkey and mushroom and burrata gourmet toasts.
Everything on the menu is “carefully crafted down to the micronutrient with locally sourced, quality ingredients,” according to the website. Toastique promises “Instagrammable goodness” and invites influencers to be “brand ambassadors” if they share the company’s “passion for delicious food and healthy living.” For customers who are more focused on the economic side, there is a rewards program, where customers can get free juices, $10 rewards for every $100 spent, and a free smoothie on their birthday.
