Eagle-eyed Instagram user amyyywhatuwannado spotted something… unusual on a recent visit to Druid Hill Park. You know that triumphant statue of Columbus? Well, a nest of hornets has decided to make it their home. Specifically, they’ve chosen to build their nest right in the middle of Christopher Columbus’s crotch.
Some people might see this and snicker. Others might see it as a sophisticated apian commentary on the history of European colonization. I like to think that it means that hornets have a really good sense of humor.
