True Chesapeake Oyster Co., located in Whitehall Mill, is one of many local spots with a great Mother’s Day brunch plan.

This week is filled with spring flavors and fun ways to celebrates the mothers among us. Here’s a look at what’s happening in Baltimore’s restaurant scene:

Cheers to 10 years of Earth, Wood & Fire
Earth, Wood & Fire is celebrating 10 years in business this month. To honor the occasion, the restaurant has expanded its happy hour deals to include the entire bar area (tables + bar). Plus, the crew introduced a new slate of specials this week.

Mother’s Day plans
Mother’s Day is Sunday, which means you still have just a little time to make plans for Mother’s Day brunch or dinner.

A few restaurants have just recently announced plans:

Bondhouse Kitchen in Fells Point will be open for Mother’s Day brunch starting at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

La Cuchara will have a prix fixe brunch available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the a la carte menu available for dinner.

Azumi has a special Mother’s Day menu in the works for the day.

True Chesapeake Oyster Co. will offer a major brunch buffet, including everything from eggs and bacon to butter-poached rockfish, and a cupcake bar for dessert.

At Guinness Open Gate Brewery, Mother’s Day celebrations will feature a variety of activities, including complimentary family photos and live music, plus the release of a new Hibiscus Wheat Ale with Lemon, and beer cocktails made with CAnE Collective mixers.

Dining for Leadership
On Monday, Leadership Howard County partners with Walker’s Tap & Table chef Chad Wells for a special four-course meal with signature cocktails and draft beer pairings.

Proceeds from the meal, which takes place at Walker’s, will benefit Leadership Howard County’s initiatives.

Parties with John Shields
On Wednesday, Gertrude’s chef/owner John Shields brings back another episode of his Zoom show, “Chesapeake Farm & Bay to Table.”

This episode is all about throwing parties in the springtime. For the show, Chef Shields partners with his former “Cooking with John Shields” partner, Andrea Farnum, who has traveled to Baltimore from her home on the west coast.

Yappy Hour at The Choptank
Also on Wednesday, The Choptank hosts a Yappy Hour event with a special doggie menu, prize baskets, entertainment, and Tito’s drink specials – perfect for pup parents (and others who just love dogs).

Spring dinner at The Elkridge Furnace Inn
On Thursday, The Elkridge Furnace Inn will host a five-course meal showcasing the best spring ingredients, harvested right from the farm on the Inn’s grounds.
