It’s that time of year again; time to make up for your relationship mishaps by giving chocolates and other tokens of affection. Why not do something different this year? How about stay in a hotel and pretend to be strangers in your own town? Well, right now is the best time because Baltimore is gearing up for its first annual Hotel Week. Sponsored by Visit Baltimore, the event rides on the successful steam of Restaurant Weeks past. Many hotels around the city are discounting their rates during the week of February 8-18, including Hotel Monaco, Admiral Fell Inn, Hyatt Regency and the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel. More scoop after the jump.

Rates will start from $99 with added perks depending on the venue; some extras include breakfast, chocolates, cards and champagne. This is just in time for Valentine’s Day since people will be looking for romantic spots… (Are you thinking what I’m thinking? There will probably be a lot of November babies born this year if Baltimoreans take advantage of the discounted rooms.)

If gushy coupledom isn’t your thing, why not rent a room just to get away from reality for a night or two? Those who book two nights get tickets to an event at one of the city’s popular venues such as Fort McHenry, Maryland Science Center, the National Aquarium and others.

Whether its for love or a mini vacation, Baltimore’s hotel week seem
like it could be a lot of relaxing fun for a bargain-basement rate.
