We now have our first taste of the forthcoming War On Women album. The group’s label, Bridge Nine, today released lead single “YDTMHTL,” or, “You don’t tell me how to live,” featuring guest vocals from Kathleen Hanna of the legendary ’90s riot grrrl band Bikini Kill.
The roaring refrain of the blistering song’s title is directed at any number of people: those who feel free to comment about how people look or dress or who they love, or anyone offering “fake concern.”
Listen to the track, premiered by Revolver Magazine, below.
“Capture the Flag,” the band’s second album, is due out April 13, which will be followed with a release show at the Ottobar on April 21. But before that, members of the group will be performing an acoustic set at Atomic Books, where Joanna Angel, the founder of the adult site BurningAngel.com and author of “NIGHT SHIFT: A Choose Your Own Erotic Fantasy,” who also lends vocals on the album, will be appearing Saturday.
