Courtesy of Citybizlist – With a net worth of $3.7 billion, Mitchell Rales, the 55-year-old founder of manufacturing and technology company Donaher, led Maryland’s nine billionaires on Forbes magazine’s listing of the world’s billionaires.
Rales, along with brother Steven, built Equity Group Holdings by buying small manufacturing companies during the junk bond frenzy of the 1980s.
Forbes, which has tracked the world’s billionaires for the past 25 years, counted an all-time high 1,226 billionaires worth a record $4.6 trillion this year. Mexican Carlos Slim topped the list with $69.5 billion.
Baltimore’s Kevin Plank made the list at #1075. Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti, who lives in Anne Arundel County, also made the list.
