An MTA Light Rail train fatally struck a man this morning in the Howard Street corridor, police said.

Baltimore Police Department spokesman T.J. Smith told the media the incident happened about 8:30 a.m. near N. Howard and W. Mulberry streets. The manโ€™s body was dislodged from the southbound train several blocks later at N. Howard and Lexington streets.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Members of the BPDโ€™s Crash Investigation Team and MTA police are still on the scene investigating.

MTAโ€™s public information officer, Paul Shepard, said they were hoping to have full light rail service restored by noon.
