Just so you know, if you want to make a statue of me, I’d you prefer you wait until after I’ve died. But I have a feeling former Raven Ray Lewis doesn’t have any such qualms about being memorialized while he yet walks the earth.
Here’s what the Baltimore Sun‘s Jeff Zrebiec tweeted yesterday:
Also of note, Ravens are planning on unveiling Ray Lewis statue outside stadium before 2014 season. Will be in Unitas Plaza.

The main piece of information is old news. The Ravens announced their plans to turn Lewis into an idol less than a week after their 2013 Super Bowl win. We just didn’t know exactly where or exactly when.
A few minutes later Zrebiec tweeted that the artist would be Fred Kail, who is also responsible for the Johnny Unitas statue. And apparently, Lewis has “had input in process.”
All I know is, if the statue depicts Lewis doing anything other than screaming, I’m going to be disappointed.
