Harbor East has landed a new entertainment venue sure to excite gamers who love virtual reality (VR) play.
Sandbox VR will be joining the neighborhood lineup, set to open later this year right next to Game Show Battle Rooms on the John Paterakis Circle.
Sandbox VR offers people a socially immersive gaming experience they can’t get with their home VR systems, or even at other location-based VR venues. The experience combines full-body motion capture with high-quality haptics, which creates a level of realism that takes group play and socializing to a new level.
The Harbor East location will have four private rooms for virtual reality gameplay. Each room will allow as many as six players to have a shared experience exploring any of nine available worlds. Players will get VR headsets, haptic vests, and ankle and wrist trackers that sync with 3D motion capture cameras embedded throughout the game rooms. This is how players can see and interact with each other while playing games throughout their chosen virtual world.

This will be Maryland’s first Sandbox VR location, though there are over 60 locations worldwide. Other brands that have chosen Harbor East as their first Maryland location include Alo Yoga, Saatva, Patagonia, Chanel Beauty, Interior Define, and more.
Sandbox VR has designed exclusive games, including branded experiences like Squid Game Virtuals, which they created in collaboration with Netflix. Each of their locations attracts more than 100,000 players monthly.

Sandbox VR will be located at 720 Aliceanna St. in Baltimore.
