The winning (losing?) bus stop this year is just a little ways down the road in Silver Spring, by a 6-lane highway along Route 29. The Washington Post tried to figure out which agency or department is responsible for the miserable, inaccessible, and dangerous looking location, and mostly just heard a lot of buck-passing.
The hope underlying the tongue-in-cheek contest is that by calling attention to unsafe/poorly planned public transit sites, those responsible will be forced to take action.
Now, if they could just figure out a way to get the MTA’s Route 27 bus to run on time, then we’d be talking…
