For years, Steve Fader collected pennies. And nickels and dimes and quarters. Plunking them down into shoe boxes in his closet, the coins slowly piled up for over 30 years.
Little did Fader realize how much he had collected until he became Campaign Chair of The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore. That’s when he pulled out the 150 pounds of coins totaling approximately $2,500 and recognized that his change could be put to better use.
This idea – that change could better someone’s life – soon became the basis for The Associated’s 2019 Annual Campaign. After all, thought Fader, how many others like him could make an impact in such an easy way.
On Super Sunday, October 14 at M&T Bank Stadium, The Associated launched its first Make Change Campaign.
Centered around the principle that even pennies can make a difference, the Make Change Campaign will inspire the public to donate their change to make real and lasting change.
