When does summer officially start? Technically speaking, it begins on the Summer Solstice. However, if you ask the staff and campers at Summer at Friends, they’ll tell you it’s the first day of camp. Coincidentally, this year they both fall on June 21st! That means time is running out to register your child for this year’s camp programs. The good news is that it is not too late! From Traditional Day Camps, such as Intermediate Camp, to Creative Technology or Fine Arts Camps; there’s a Summer at Friends camp to match almost any interest.
Not sure where to start? Here are a few options to get you thinking…
Imagination Alive is a four-week drama program for ages 7-10, where campers will stage a brand new production in Friends’ Forbush Auditorium. This program is a perennial favorite and features drama and theatre games, plus swimming and more!
Summer at Friends’ popular Creative Technology Camps are also available! Choose from Builders & Makers, Pix & Flix, or Robots & Rockets. Or, choose Tech Tapas for a small sampling of many unique and creative projects.
Take Two is a four-week drama and improvisational program for ages 10 -13, where campers engage in brainstorming, improvisation and critiquing workshops to cultivate their unique talents into stage acts for the Take Two Showcase at the end of the session.
The Camp’s oldest campers (ages 10 –13) also enjoy Senior Camp. The program features a mix of indoor and outdoor activities designed specifically for Senior Camp including tennis instruction, swim instruction, art, science, and more!
Summer at Friends is one of the Baltimore area’s premier day camps for boys and girls ages 4-13, providing a fun and safe camp experience for more than 60 years.
