We’re less than two weeks away from Halloween, which means you need to start stocking up on candy. According to one survey, Almond Joy may be the crowd favorite – among adults, at least.
That’s the finding from product review aggregator Influenster, which surveyed more than 42,000 people online around the United States about their top candy picks last September. Maryland and Vermont are the only states whose residents favor the coconut-filled Almond Joy over other more popular candies like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (the top vote-getter in the survey), Kit Kat (second) and 3 Musketeers (third, fittingly).

Nationally, the most commonly picked treat among entire states was candy corn. Respondents in Oregon, Wyoming, Tennessee, Texas and South Carolina picked the tri-colored cone that is so easily loved or loathed, but rarely anything in between.
You may want to think twice if you plan to use Influenster’s 2015 survey to guide your Halloween candy shopping this year for your neighborhood’s trick-or-treaters. Only five percent of those surveyed were under age 18, and the average respondent age was 28.
We’re assuming most of the trick-or-treaters in your neighborhood are children, so they may not feel the same way about Almond Joy. The survey says Reese’s Cups or Kit Kat bars may be the safest way to go.
