I’m a baker…but not like the artists at Charm City Cakes. So, when I took a cake class there, I have to admit, I was a little nervous. I’d never done anything like that before…but I thought it sounded like fun. And, I’d get to have Mary Smith teach me – how cool is that? Since this is Baltimore, we have a friend in common, but I’d never met her…only seen her on Ace of Cakes. And I’m happy to report, she is as nice and fun and bubbly (and ON IT) as she seemed on the Food Network. (As I thought she would be.)
The week leading up to the class was a really busy one, so I had no time to even think about it, much less get worked up about it. I had a wedding gig – love when people give my brownies as favors! – and had a big delivery to make in Harbor East. And since I am a Langrehr, I arrived early, parked and walked to LAMILL (OH, I miss that place) to grab coffee for myself and for the nice lady working at the front desk at the Legg Mason building. When I got to LAMILL, I realized I didn’t have my wallet with me. The lovely, lovely barista rock star Echo Standing sent me on my way with two coffees…I vowed to pay her back. She said, no. And when I went back in the next weekend, she once again said I was covered. What a peach.
