Congratulations to Gilman’s Class of 2018
The 115 members of Gilman’s Class of 2018 marked their high school graduation on Sunday, June 10. Speakers included valedictorian Matthew Ziwen Mu, Board of Trustees President Scott Wieler, and Headmaster Henry P.A. Smyth. Before the graduates received their diplomas, several students won awards for scholarship, athletic performance, or community service. In what has become a tradition, Gilman’s a cappella group, the Traveling Men, sang “The Parting Song,” based on a 17th-century Scottish song. To conclude the ceremony, pairs of graduates left the stage with a special handshake, hug, or selfie. Congratulations to these new Gilman alumni:
Carey Foundation Endows College Counseling Center and Lecture Series at Gilman School

Headmaster Henry P. A. Smyth announced a $3 million investment from the W. P. Carey Foundation to endow the Gilman School college counseling program. This leadership gift to the School’s First Things First campaign is the largest donation to support college counseling received by the School.
