Open wide: It’s the Week in Review for May 1-8, 2015.

Baltimore continued to be on national TV, leading to the inevitable commentary from satirical late night hosts. Saturday Night Live and John Oliver each turned in send-ups last week. In TV IRL news, the real Olivia Pope came to Baltimore.

But Baltimore’s troubles will outlast the news cycle. That’s because of deep-seated issues, like the city’s lack of income mobility.

At the West Baltimore intersection where the country watched a CVS burn, one developer already sees opportunity.

Cynthia McIntyre looked at the real estate view from Bolton Hill.

The Ivy Hotel is set to open in Mt. Vernon, with 18 distinctive rooms and hand-painted murals. Meg Fielding got a tour.
