With Thanksgiving and Chanukah around the corner, this is the perfect time of year to show our appreciation for what we have and help others who need a little support. The Associated and its network of agencies are continuing to make lives brighter, with the help of the local community. Here are a few ways you can donate your time or your dollars to make an impact this holiday season.
Casserole Challenge
Make this holiday season a little happier for the families who struggle with food insecurity. Make your favorite … or several favorite … casseroles (they freeze well) and drop them off at Jewish Volunteer Connection on November 30. These will be delivered Manna House, Living Classrooms, and the Maree G. Farring Elementary School and other local organizations. Now in its sixth year, JVC has delivered 2,200 casseroles since the Casserole Challenge’s inception. Learn more.
Jewish Community Services (JCS) Toy Drive
Brighten a child’s face this holiday. Help Jewish Community Servies (JCS) purchase toys, books or crafts for client families facing economic hardship this year. JCS is collecting monetary donations to purchase gift cards to make these children’s holiday season special.
Take Advantage of a Match to Double Your Impact
Through the end of Chanukah, a generous donor is matching all pledges to The Associated’s Annual Campaign. This is the perfect time to double your impact and help domestic violence victims, teens struggling with mental health and older adults who want to stay independent. Locally, money raised also will help us advocate against antisemitism in Maryland and on local college campuses, build bridges across communities, promote Jewish life and more. Give here.
