Courtesy Citybizlist – Boston has been rated the ‘healthiest’ city in the country. Along with excellent health insurance coverage and the highest rate of physicians per residents, residents of the city also have access to a number of federally-funded health programs, Business Insider said. Baltimore was ranked twelfth healthiest.
BusinessInsider.com published a list of the 15 healthiest cities of America. The list was compiled by Nerdwallet.com and based on four factors – how fit the residents are, their health insurance, the number of physicians per 100,000 residents, and the number of high particle pollution days per year for each metro area. The 50 largest metro areas in the U.S. were included in the analysis.
The data was gathered from the American Fitness Index, the American Lung Association’s 2013 State of the Air report, and census data on health insurance coverage and the number of physicians per 100,000 residents.
