On Saturday, the Baltimore Seafood Festival made its debut and it was really fantastic. I give a huge amount of kudos to B Scene Events & Promotions – a new, large-scale event like this is no small task! There were a few wrinkles from what I hear — many vendors were running out of food, for example — but with the glorious weather we had over the weekend, their numbers swelled with tons of walk-ups. I would highly recommend doing the VIP thing! For $75 (not cheap, I know…) you were given several tickets for food and drinks, access to a spacious tent, steamed crabs and more. Canton Waterfront Park is a great venue and I just can’t say enough nice things about this event, and it will only get better.
Here are a few of my favorites from the event:

Bryan Voltaggio and Dan Izzo from Aggio at their cooking demo

Is there anything better? Really?

Mmmm, shrimp and bacon buns from Dooby’s

Dylan’s Oyster Cellar makes some serious cocktail sauce

Love that the mayor was there supporting local events – thank you, SRB!

Local oyster farmer, Patrick Hudson, shucking his True Chesapeakes!

What a gorgeous day in Baltimore!
