I love Fell’s Point. When people ask me where to take out-of-town guests, I always say Fell’s Point…or as it’s now referred to…Fell’s. (It makes me cringe, right along with Fed Hill. Sorry, #crankypants) In Fell’s Point, there is rich history, great seafood and dive bars. What a combo!
Fells Point’s traditional Olde Tyme Christmas kicks off the holiday season in style, with St. Nick’s arrival by tug boat at Broadway Pier at 9:00am on Saturday, December 6. You can follow along with him and enjoy a delicious breakfast and get souvenir photos, too. Then, stroll over to the Olde Tyme Christmas Holiday Market on Broadway Square where vendors will be selling great gifts to a soundtrack from a cappella groups and choirs. One part of Old Tyme Christmas not to be missed? The Eggnog Contest! Pick up your ballot at the Fell’s Point Main Street Booth on Broadway Square for a suggested donation and use it to score the secret brews concocted by 20 (yes, 20…sip!) Fell’s Point businesses. At the end of the contest, return your ballot to our booth on the Square so we can tally the ballots and announce the People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice winners. At the end of the day, there is a tree lighting ceremony by a secret VIP guest at 5:00pm, immediately followed by the Parade of Lighted Boats – a holiday favorite – at 6:00pm. There’s also the Reindeer Pub Run, which is the official Olde Tyme Christmas Pub Crawl through the charming Belgian block streets of historic Fell’s Point.
And once you’re ready to take a load off, head on into Rye, one of Baltimore’s best spots for a cocktail and House of Cards sightings…
