Maryland is on pace to break a morbid record this summer after seeing 31 heat-related deaths alone in July.

In total, the state recorded 38 heat-related deaths so far this year.

Thatโ€™s the highest number since 2012, when there were 46 deaths, and there are still two months left in the hot weather season.
