The oh-so-delicious EmporiYUM returns to Baltimore this April

Share the News

The Emporiyum is coming back, B’more: April 18-19 in Harbor East. Ramen and burgers and doughnuts, oh my! (note the YUM in the event name.)

The two-day marketplace brings together a lineup of food and beverage purveyors you will not find anywhere else. Meet the people behind the brands, learn about their products and wow friends and family with unique edible gifts. The Emporiyum is honored to host this year’s event at the former H&S Bakery Distribution Center located at the intersection of Fleet Street and S. Central Avenue.

Spike Gjerde (Woodberry Kitchen) and other local all-stars will be joined by chef Erik Bruner-Yang (Toki Underground, Maketto), Bittermilk, Shake Shack, Luke’s Lobster, Breadfurst, Fatty Sundays, and many more. There are new vendors traveling in from Charleston, Chicago, Philadelphia, DC, Virginia, and New York.

Sue-Jean Kang, co-founder of the event told me, “We are excited to bring a bigger and better Emporiyum to Charm City this spring – 40% of our vendors are new to the lineup and we’ve increased our capacity to accommodate more people and more vendors (over 65 vendors confirmed.) Our vendors are 50:50. 50% are local to the Mid-Atlantic while the other 50% are from all across the country. There will be a DJ, plus sips, samples and of course plenty of shopping for gifts and for your personal pantry. Like last year, tickets will sell out.”

This event is just so much fun for foodies. (p.s. I still don’t like that word. But it works, it just does.) With so many high quality vendors, the shopping and eating will be stellar. New this year…Wit & Wisdom will cater the VIP brunch, so you can look forward to food and drinks by Zack Mills and Aaron Joseph. If you can swing VIP tickets ($40 each), do it. Skip a dinner out…that’s what I’d do anyway. It will be less crowded and more enjoyable – VIP guests get in early – and you get a VIP bag courtesy of Hometown Harvest.

If you can’t do VIP, not to worry, General Admission tickets will be timed this year to help shoppers enjoy the experience even more. Last year, I was a vendor but this year, I’m simply there to shop and EAT ALL OF THE FOOD.

I know I will be rolling out of there with bags full of deliciousness from folks like Gordy’s Pickle Jar, Bittermilk, Waxing Kara and so many more new ones I don’t know even know about yet – I can’t wait!
