Patton Oswalt comes to the Lyric July 19, 2024.

There’s something funny going on in Baltimore in July.

Specifically, Patton Oswalt! The comedian, actor, and writer announced new dates for his tour “Patton Oswalt: Effervescent” which begins May 2 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but lands in Baltimore at the Lyric on July 19.

“Patton Oswalt has a brand-new hour of his signature apocalyptic, pop culture comedy. He’s older, way less wise, and going through some stuff,” reads the press release. “Come see the hilarious train wreck. He’ll be dead in thirty or forty years so this might be your last chance to catch him.”

Oswalt has been extremely busy. His latest comedy special, “We All Scream,” launched on Netflix in late 2022, he was nominated for a Grammy for his comedy album, and he starred in the comedy “I Love My Dad,” which won the Grand Jury and Audience awards at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival.

He has always crossed genres and media, appearing in many films, including “The Circle” with Tom Hanks, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” and “Zoolander” (both directed by Ben Stiller), “The Informant” with Matt Damon, and many more.

He’s also appeared in many television shows. His TV debut was on “Seinfeld,” he earned a TV Critics Choice Award for his role on “Parks and Recreation,” and he played Spence on “The King of Queens” for nine seasons, among many other roles in live action shows and voice overs in others.

This isn’t Oswalt’s first time performing in Baltimore. He was here in 2019 also performing at the (then, called) Modell Lyric Theater.
