I’m Not Sure I Agree That This Is the Coolest Small Town in America

Two years ago, Budget Travel named Berlin, Maryland as the coolest small town in America. In 2016, the magazine has once again anointed a place in Maryland as “the coolest.” Bet you can’t guess what it is.

Yesterday, Chesapeake Bay Girl Scout Troop 176 attended at a public meeting in Cecil County. The girls, ages 10 to 13, briefly about animal rights issues — the county’s animal control facility has been accused of mistreating animals — saying controversial things like “I felt really bad for the animals” and holding controversial signs like “save the animals.” And then adults–grown-ups!!–started yelling racial insults at the girls.

Cecil County Food and Wine

catch of the day fish (2)If summer in the city is starting to make you swelter, maybe it’s time to get more proactive about weekend day trips. KKK group held a public meeting in Cecil County on Friday in which members of the group — all done up in robes and hoods — claimed that they are not a hate group, and in fact have no problem with people of color.

So why did the two-year-old group decide to adopt all the trappings — including cross burning — of the Klan? To make their message of “saving America” by impeaching Pres. Barack Obama — for totally non-racist reasons — and toughening our immigration laws that much less appealing?
