As summer winds down, the local food scene is heating up. This week brings numerous events, from cocktail dinners to crab feast fundraisers. Here’s a look at what’s on tap:

Hot Plate: Center Cut Doughnuts Officially Opens, Spring Menu Additions, Easter Brunch Options

Fork & Wrench updated its menu this week, adding a new batch of seasonal dishes.

Between Opening Day, Light City and a (mostly) gorgeous stretch of weather, Baltimore has been the place to be this past week.

Local restaurants are keeping the magic going next week, too, with new menu additions and events. They’re also looking ahead to the following weekend, with big plans for Easter brunches. Here’s a look at what’s happening next week and Easter weekend:

Hampden took a hit when B. Doughnut left its space on Chestnut Avenue last month. But gourmet doughnut lovers will rejoice to learn that a new doughnut shop is taking over and planning to blaze its own trail in the same space starting later this week.

We used to have to travel either up or down I-95 for a crazy-flavored doughnut (you know, something like maple & bacon, jalepeno-lime, or fruity pebbles). But no longer. Diablo Doughnuts have been cranking out hot, fresh, and thoughtfully flavored doughnuts for over a year now from deep in the heart of Towson (who knew, right?).
