Summer at Friends has been creating summer memories since the 1960’s. A hidden gem located right on Charles Street between Northern Parkway and Wyndhurst Avenue, Summer at Friends takes advantage of Friends School’s 35 acre campus. Here campers as young as four and as old as thirteen enjoy thoughtfully crafted activities such as science, technology, art, music, and swimming, in the comfort of a facility designed just for them! It’s a place for campers to be kids, form friendships, and discover the joy of creating lasting memories of summer fun, in a peaceful, safe, and supportive environment.
Beginning at four years old, Calvert School students embark on a ten-year journey of curiosity, mastery, and purpose. A Calvert education blends tradition with innovation in a way that encourages children’s innate curiosity and love of learning.
We invite you to visit campus, hear from Administrators, and discover where the journey begins.
For more than 55 years Summer at Friends has been the place to be for camp! Today’s programs range from half-day KinderCamp (for four and five year olds) to Creative Technology and Fine Arts Camps (for campers up to age 13)! Summer at Friends is so much fun for campers… and it is fun for the staff who spend all year planning great activities! Enter Summer Programs Coordinator, Sue Cusick, and Camp Director, Janelle Schmidt, who can’t wait to share their recipe for summer fun with you!
J Camps offer STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) options. Imagine! You are lost in the woods with little on you and the only way to survive is to use your knowledge of circuitry to invent your own tools. Like a compass, an LED lantern or even a solar oven to cook your food.
