Time is ticking for Marylanders who still want to request a mail-in ballot for the upcoming election.

Friday is the last day that voters can submit an online request for a mail-in ballot.

To do so, eligible Maryland voters can visit the Maryland State Board of Elections website.

They will be asked questions about their name; date of birth; gender; citizenship and/or military status; driver’s license number, ID number, or Learner’s Permit number; the last 4 digits of their Social Security Number; address; political party; and contact information.

Because the deadline has passed to request that your ballot be mailed or faxed to you, these remaining mail-in ballot voters will have to choose the print-at-home option.

After filling out your ballot, make sure your signature matches your name on your voter registration in order to make the vote-counting process run smoothly and reduce the likelihood of your vote being challenged.

Voters have a few options for how to submit their mail-in ballot. If submitting your completed ballot by mail, it must be postmarked by or before Nov. 3. Officials recommend returning it as soon as possible rather than waiting until Nov. 3.

Voters can also hand-deliver their ballot to an approved drop box or local elections board by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3.

For drop box locations, click here or visit your county government website for a map of nearby sites.

Also, Thursday is the last day for early voting in person. To find an early voting location, click here.

After Thursday, voters who want to vote in person will have to wait until Election Day, Nov. 3.
