Gilman School has 77 reasons to be proud of its Latin program this spring. That’s how many boys and girls earned awards on the 2017 National Latin exam — nearly half of the Bryn Mawr, RPCS and Gilman students to take the exam. As part of the tri-school coordinate program, Latin students from all three schools take their classes at Gilman.
Three Gilman boys wrote perfect exams, receiving a certificate in addition to their gold medal: Justin Bai ’20, Tom Broadus ’20 and Mekhi Johnson ’18. Of 135,000 test takers only 6% achieved that distinction. And two boys received a special award for receiving their fourth gold medal: Andy Eller ’17 and Mekhi Johnson.
