In a season full of untimely injuries, the Orioles received more troubling news when infielder Tim Beckham’s left groin injury turned out to be more serious than originally thought. He may soon undergo surgery.

The Baltimore Orioles today announced a full slate of themed promotional events throughout the season, including a yoga night and games dedicated to classic kids’ baseball movie “The Sandlot,” HBO’s fantasy epic “Game of Thrones” and good doggos.

In addition to the indignity of seeing a one-run deficit balloon to six in the top of the 9th inning, the Baltimore Orioles had the rather dubious honor of playing in front of one of the smallest crowds in Oriole Park at Camden Yards history.

Orioles release remaining tickets for Kids Cheer Free program

The Wall Street Journal‘s Jason Gay just wrote a column praising the Orioles for their new Kids Cheer Free program, and deservedly so. It truly is one of the best deals in professional sports: Adults who buy an upper deck ticket can bring up to two kids ages 9 or younger for free.

When the Baltimore Orioles announced earlier this month they were starting a program allowing adults to bring children ages 9 and younger to games for free all season long, they paired the news with the promise of a new concessions menu offering more affordability.

Today, the team released more details, including that draft domestic beers will come in small, medium and large sizes for a range of $4-$8.
